Gentle Carousel is a Therapy Miniature Horse charity. Made up of an all volunteer staff, Gentle Carousel provides horse visits, educational programs and for the training and care of the mini Therapy Horses.
In one year Gentle carousel visited over 18,000 adults and children with the help of their volunteers. The horses and volunteers visit hospitals and hospice for both children and adults, assited care programs, group homes and disabled and abused adults and children. The horses are brought to the hospitals and hospices by Horse trailer.
The horses bring joy and smiles to those they visit. Each mini is groomed and polished and sometimes even arrives in fun costumers. The horses' sometimes participate in reading programs during their visits leaving each visitor with a stuffed toy horse.
This charity is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity and all donations are tax deductible. In addition to monetary donations Gentle Carousel also has a wish list of items they are in need of including a mini horse van, hay, books, stuffed animals and more. You can also sponsor individual horses.
If you have time to donate, Gentle Carousel is in need of volunteers for Grant Writing, Fund Raising, Farrier, Vet and Equine Dental Services and Public Relations.
This is a great charity that brings horses to people who are in situations where seeing a horse is truly an unlikely and memorable event. Interacting with the tiny horses can lift spirits and bring joy and laughter to those who need it most.
