Here's a horse of a different color. "Katie" is a rare combination of Champagne and Grulla Dun. While her coloring is quite special, the reason I picked Katie to be featured today is her incredibly sweet face. Read on for more photos of this sweet mare.

This frolicking colt is a purebred Morgan despite what his markings might allude to. His Splash paint markings are a crop-out; both of his registered Morgan parents are solid.

Brindle coats, curly coats, spotted coats, shiny coats... I've seen them all. However, I've never seen a hairless horse before! While it's more common in cats and dogs, hairless in horses is quite rare. Part of this is because the mutation that causes hairlessness in horses tends to be fatal.

Cute. Tastefully Colored. Stylized Neck. Rhocky Rhoad is a sabino purebred Arabian stallion who as a three year old won Prospects in Hand USDF Breeders Championship Series. Rhocky has proven himself to be a color producer; many of his foals are similarly marked while others are even louder in color.

First off. I would like to apologize for the long absence of posts. I was feeling overwhelmed by the internet (websites ARE my day job) and I just needed a break from the daily posting. Moving on, today's featured Show Horse isn't a horse at all. This is Porter a very impressive Show MULE. This guy is a Jack (haha) of all trades; Dressage, Jumping, Trail and more. Plus his ears and expressive eyes are super cute.

Luscombe Nodram the Shire

This is Noddy, the current World's Tallest Horse record holder. Noddy is a towering 20.2 hands at the withers; or 6'8" tall. According to his owners, Noddy was a normal height as a weanling for a Shire. The go on to say that, "Nodram enjoys spending his days with famous Thoroughbreds; he is acquainted with some of the top racing horses in Australia . Though one of his mates on the farm is another rare horse, a Suffolk Punch named Nash."

Sharp One, or "Salsa" is another rare brindle horse. Salsa goes to local shows and produces babies. Her owners are attempting to produce more brindle horses.

Dunbars Gold the Quarter Horse

Dunbar's Gold is a very rare Brindle color. While common in dog breeds like Greyhounds and Pitbulls, brindle is rarely seen in horses. The genetic cause for this pattern is not completely understood. Dunbars Gold is a registered American Quarter Horse stallion.
