Art of Fire Fine Art Raku Horse Sculpture by Lakeshore Collection
|
These one of a kind horse sculptures are incredibly unique. I've never seen horse status with this type of iridescence patina. The artist has created several different breed poses and each individual piece is slightly different in color.
Artist's Description
Three layers of special glaze are brushed on, and we kiln-fire to over 1900 degrees. When the glaze is glowing orange hot & molten, it’s quickly placed in a metal reduction chamber filled with paper, leaves and/or twigs, where it is immediately engulfed in flame!
Each resulting fine art piece which survives the ordeal---and 50% don't--is as unique, individual, and distinctive as a fingerprint - and alive with a kaleidoscope of swirling iridescence and metallic patinas - each determined not by the hand of man, but by the fire & smoke. No two can ever be alike & each is individually documented.

Wow! These horse sculptures sound absolutely mesmerizing with their iridescence patina. The artist’s technique of kiln-firing and using a metal reduction chamber creates such unique and distinctive pieces. I wish I could see them in my location now.
