Hansen is a hopeful entrant to the 2012 Kentucky Derby. He's won one Grade I Stakes, the Breeder's Cup Juvenile, and the Grade II Toyota Blue Grass. I feature him today because he's such a pretty light grey horse and my underdog pick for the Derby. Plus he makes me think of the song "Mmmbop". Good luck Hansen!

Eva
This filly is a jaunty little foal. She has a teeny grin going on in her photos, the corners of her lips just turn up ever so slightly. With legs up to here, I'm sure Eva will end up being a very tall girl.

Whisper Gets Adopted by Willie Nelson
Thin and Underweight, Whisper the mare and her fellow horse Traveler, were the victims of a neglectful and ignorant owner. Both horses were severely underweight and Whisper's back was burned from a home remedy gone wrong. Her neglectful owner had tried to cure a fungal infection by apply Kerosene. But things are looking up for Whisper and Traveler because they are being adopted by country music legend Willie Nelson.

Smarty Party the Thoroughbred

Smarty Party looks a lot like her sire, Smarty Jones the 2004 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner. She recently made her track debut coming in a respectable second place at Colonial Downs. Time will tell if Ms. Smarty Party will reach the levels of racing success that her sire achieved.

Yes, this is indeed a Jockey Registered Thoroughbred with Paint markings. Simba Twist is probably one of the flashiest Tbreds out there. But he's not just a cool color, he's also from a line of successful Jumpers. Not under saddle yet as three year old, you can see this guy has athletic potential just from his conformation.

"Angel" is dual registered with the Jockey Club and the American Paint Horse Association. I just love her coloring. Her dappled buckskin coat is contrasted nicely with the white paint markings and black points. She's built very correctly and has a lovely extended trot.

Gold Tycoon the Thoroughbred

This lovely colt has got Hunter written all over him. The judges agree. Gold Tycoon has won USEF Zone 8 Year End Champion Hunter Breeding Two Year old and the Arizona Hunter Jumper Association 2008 Year End Championship for Hunter Breeding Two year olds. "Ty" is a wonderful dappled gold Palomino. His expression is so sweet. His face and his golden color reminds me of Winnie the Pooh for some reason. Though, Gold Tycoon is obviously much fitter.

I couldn't guess this girl's breed when I was looking over her photos. Turns out she is a Lipizzan crossed with a Thoroughbred. Spring is a great dressage partner.

Ritzy Jones the Thoroughbred

These Smarty Jones babies have the best names! This is Ritzy Jones, a son of Smarty Jones. I have a weakness for the grey Thoroughbreds, I just love them. This slate grey colt looks really sharp in white tack and the blue racing silks of Someday Farm. Ritzy Jones won easily in the slop at Philly Park, breaking his maiden in March of 2009.
