Regina of Germany wanted a horse, but her parents said no. So the resourceful teen trained one of the family's cows to ride and jump. The two share a remarkable bond that was cultivated over many hours spent together during training. Two years later "Luna" can hack with best of them. (I especially like Regina's fashion sense and the fact the cow goes in a simple halter.)

I came across this website, www.miniaturedreamparties.com while looking for a nice Miniature horse to feature in the Gallery. I couldn't get over cuteness of the photo of the pony with the pink mane and tail pulling the princess carriage. If you live in the Jupiter Florida area you can hire this company for birthday parties and other events. I can only imagine how crazy little girls would go over having this princess carriage and pony at a birthday party.

Believe it or not, miniature horses have been trained to assist the blind in the same manner dogs are used to assist the blind. The advantage of a miniature horse is they have a much longer lifespan than a dog. While an assistance dog might only be in service for 6 years, a miniature horse can be used for 20 years. Considering the expense and time commitment that goes into training an assistance animal, these added years that a miniature horse can be in service makes a huge difference.
